Tips for Making the Best New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! I can't begin to explain how excited I am for 2018 to be here, and see what it brings to all my friends, family, and loved ones!

One of the biggest things for people around the new year is setting goals to achieve throughout. Do you guys make new years resolutions? January 1st is just another date on the calendar... But let's be real... There is something magical about thinking of a fresh new start and page 1 out of 365.

I always set new goals for myself around the end of December to begin during the first few weeks of January. I thought today I would share some tips on how to make some of these resolutions become a reality.

Review your previous year. What did you do well? What do you think you could work on? This could be pretty hard because I'm sure the first few months of the previous year probably get mixed in with the year before that. I know I am one to do this all the time.

Now that you have thought of things you would like to improve or could work on, focus on only one resolution at a time. One of the first mistakes that are made when planning a new years resolution is focusing on too many. This can be extremely daunting, and the less resolutions, the more your brain can focus on one task only.

When making these lists, give yourself time. Most likely your resolutions aren't going to come true in a month. Remember... good things take time.

Remind yourself of your goals everyday. If you're having trouble keeping your goals at the forefront of your mind, set an alarm of why you are doing this... Put sticky notes on your mirror that you see everyday, or record yourself on a webcam everyday.

Start all of this right now! Don't wait. Even with many small changes, you'll be extremely prepared for when the big changes happen.

I'm no expert in goal making. This is just something that I find works for me that I thought I would share.

Hope you all had a wonderful new years, and all your goals come true!
