How To Blog and Still Work Full Time

We recently got a new office space at my job, and it is such an inspiring workplace, and looks like the perfect place to blog on breaks at the same time, doesn't it?

For the majority of bloggers, working full time is definitely the norm. It's pretty much impossible to start out with a successful blog. So, most of us work during the day and spend our nights and weekends blogging away.

When I first started this blog a few months ago, I was and am still working full time in a somewhat related field of fashion. Well... Baby fashion. But that doesn't stop me from talking about the trendy fashion I know and love! I am lucky I still have time to squeeze in for blogging after all. What I wanted to do today was share a few tips on how to run a blog while working full time and not going completely crazy!

1) Work with your schedule

Your days are taken up by your job, but if you can easily find ways to incorporate photoshoots, and typing up an article into your daily life, you will be able to get a lot done! For example, I either shoot my outfits on my way to work, or after work, or on the weekends, and save the outfit for a day I don't have a lot of time to post. You could even go out on your lunch break, and have someone shoot for you!

I also leave nights or lunch breaks for editing and writing. Taking advantage of my weekends is my number 1 and where I have the most time.

2) Look at blogging as "me time"

I think when you start looking at your blog as a job, things could start to get quite stressful. Don't look at it as that... Look at it as something you like to do in your free time. Remember why you started blogging, and remember what you are looking to get out of it. It's your time to be creative, and talk about whatever you want! Let yourself enjoy it, and don't put so much pressure on yourself.

3) Set realistic goals for yourself

While you're taking some pressure off your shoulders, make sure you are setting some realistic goals for yourself that won't make you go crazy. Maybe you want to try to post 5 times a week, but if that's not realistic, then that should not be your goal. Start with 2-3 times per week, or whatever is reasonable for your schedule. Remember, you have a full time job, and you have to accommodate to yourself.

This goes for growing your blog as well. It's easy to look at other accounts or blogs and be envious of their following. But driving yourself crazy by trying to get followers isn't worth it. Work towards your goals weekly, and be proud when you reach them!

Life is still so important! Are you happy? Are you enjoying spending your time on these things? Remember what is most important to you, and make yourself happy.
