Tips For a Versatile Wardrobe
Spring is here, and you're probably dealing with that annoying not hot, but not freezing weather. So then what are you supposed to wear?! This is a question I always find myself asking.
Sometimes I look at my closet FULL of clothes, and think to myself that I literally have nothing to wear. There were also so many pieces I notice in my closet sometimes that aren't always the easiest of pieces to pair with another. Some are just better on their own more than others.
Is this something you go through too? Well today I'm sharing a few tips on how to curate a closet where you won't be asking yourself what to wear all the time, and different ways to mix up different pieces for a completely different look!
1) Narrow down your color palette, and stick with it!
This is a great tip if you're really confused on where to start. First, think of your favorite colors or colors you tend to gravitate to in your wardrobe. Now narrow it down to 3 or 4 colors. The best neutrals and color direction to go in are blacks, whites, greys, camel, navy and olive tones. These colors will always mix and match with each other!
2) Basics, and more basics!
Make sure you have 2 or more ways to style an outfit! Basics are great as this as you can tend to aways mix and match tees to cardigans, and tanks and so on. Even basic dresses are the best, because you can always dress them up or chose not to. These all make great points for style and once you combine your color palette with your basics and layering you will have already created so many more outfits then you thought possible!
3) Know Where to Shop
Knowing what brands make nice, high quality pieces is always great as well. Classics never go out of style. Think of timeless pieces as in investment to your wardrobe. For example, maybe a high quality leather jacket, that will always remain fashionable. Don't buy a "classic piece" from Forever 21 that will only last you a season. Invest in your classics!
Versatility is not always about quantity but having great pieces that transition from look to look effortlessly!
These 3 tips on how to build a versatile wardrobe are my go-to’s when transitioning my wardrobe for a new season. What are some of your tips and tricks?
